People with expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs will be able to dispose of them at Greene County Courthouse’s Church Street entrance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday for the nationwide Drug Take Back event.

Greene County Drug and Alcohol Program and Greene County Sheriff’s Office are partnering with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration for the 13th “take back” opportunity in the past seven years in an attempt to prevent pill abuse and theft.

The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches. The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked.

For more information about the disposal of prescription drugs or about Take Back Day event, go to the DEA Diversion website at www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov.
