A Holbrook man is facing several felony charges, including human trafficking, for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl at an Allegheny County motel last June.

The alleged victim told police Peter Moldovan IV, 31, of 1329 Tom’s Run Road, met her and her mother at the Avalon Motel, 512 Ohio River Blvd., Pittsburgh, where Moldovan allegedly paid the girl’s mother $20 to drive around for a few hours. He then allegedly took the girl to a room on the second floor, where they had sex, the complaint said.

Police said the alleged victim told them she had known Moldovan since she was 12, because he was a friend of her mother’s. Police did not indicate whether the girl’s mother would be charged.

Moldovan was charged Tuesday by Allegheny County Police with trafficking of persons, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, conspiracy to commit sexual assault and indecent assault. According to a Facebook post from Greene County Regional Police, a confidential informant contacted them to inform them where Moldovan could be found. Greene County sheriff’s deputies then made the arrest.

Moldovan’s bail was set at $50,000 by District Judge Glenn Bates, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 4 in Allegheny County.
