One of two Washington County men facing numerous burglary and theft charges filed against them last week by the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Western Organized Crime Unit after a string of break-ins between June and August in Washington and Allegheny counties was arraigned Friday.

Scott Michael Davis, 32, of 31 Dovercrest Road, Eighty Four, was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis on 23 counts of burglary and conspiracy, 22 counts of theft and criminal mischief and one count of attempted burglary. He was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond. Davis faces a Sept. 5 preliminary hearing before Ellis.

There is still a warrant out for Davis’ alleged accomplice, Timothy Kelly, 19, of 2109 Rankintown Road, Finleyville.

Trooper Craig Yauch, who filed the charges, said earlier this week the investigation was a cooperative effort by officers from several departments.

Davis and Kelly are accused of burglaries in Carroll, North Strabane, Nottingham, Peters, Somerset and Union townships and Finleyville, Monongahela and New Eagle in Washington County and Bethel Park and South Park in Allegheny County.
