WAYNESBURG – A 21-year old West Virginia woman convicted by a Greene County Court jury of having sexual relations with an 11-year-old boy last year was sentenced Tuesday to 5 to 10 years in prison.

Kaitlynn Mackenzie Wolfe of 5208 Dorsey Lane, Morgantown, was found guilty following a two-day trial in June before Greene County Judge Lou Dayich of all counts.

Wolfe had sexual intercourse with the boy on 15 occasions between July and September 2016 at the boy’s Wayne Township home, state police said. Police did not say how they were alerted to the assault, but when they interviewed the boy he told them of the relationship.

Though Wolfe initially denied having a sexual relationship with the boy, she later confessed to police, court records indicate.

Wolfe was convicted of three counts each of rape involving a person younger than 13, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, indecent exposure and indecent assault, and one count of corruption of a minor.

As part of her sentence, Wolfe was granted credit for time served. She has been jailed since Jan. 17.

Dayich also noted in the order he was sentencing Wolfe in the mitigating range of sentences. He gave as reasons for his decision, Wolfe’s age and the fact she had been determined by the state’s Sexual Offenders Assessment Board not to be a sexually violent predator.

Dayich also cited Wolfe’s supportive family, the fact she had no previous convictions and her mental health problems.
