BURGETTSTOWN
Trucker charged: Jose Noel Sanchez-Vega, 45, of Rome, Ohio, was arrested Monday by McDonald police, who were called for a report of a reckless truck driver on Route 18 in Burgettstown. The vehicle was reportedly weaving in and out traffic, almost hitting oncoming vehicles. Police said they found the vehicle after it hit a stop sign at the intersection of Hillcrest and Center avenues. Police said Sanchez-Vega showed signs of intoxication and had a loaded handgun in his shirt pocket. He was taken to Canonsburg Hospital, where blood was drawn. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of firearms not to be carried with a license, carrying a loaded weapon, driving under the influence of alcohol, commercial driver prohibited from operating with alcohol in system and traffic violations. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.

Theft, receiving charges: Troy Eugene Hauenstein, 54, whose last known address was Chapel Hill Road, Claysville, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant obtained by Chartiers police charging him with theft and receiving stolen property. He is accused of stealing steel plates valued at between $300 and $400 on Aug. 1 from Accudie, 175 S. Country Club Road, and selling it for scrap in West Alexander. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.
SOUTH STRABANE
Theft arrest: Alisa McGant, 47, of 41 Payne Place, Canonsburg, was arrested Monday by South Strabane police on charges of retail theft and conspiracy after she and another woman allegedly stole two drills from Lowe’s, Strabane Square. McGant, who was placed in Washington County Jail on a probation detainer, was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka, who set bond at $5,000. Charges are pending against her alleged accomplice.
WASHINGTON
Vent damaged: A vent on an air-conditioning unit was damaged outside First United Methodist Church, 21 N. College St. The damage was reported Monday to Washington police.
