Greene County court cases
WAYNESBURG – A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty recently and were sentenced by Greene County Judge Lou Dayich.
Timothy Justin Brian Warren, 30, of Wheeling, W.Va. Two counts misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol charges, two misdemeanor illegally operating a motor vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock charges and five summary driving offenses. State police said Warren was driving 112 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.138 when stopped Sept. 3, 2013. Sentence: One to five years in jail, five sessions of driver improvement school, a driver’s license suspension, 40 hours of community service and a total $2,083.50 fine.
Mary Elizabeth Simonsen, 63, of Meadville. Two misdemeanor charges of DUI and a summary driving offense. State police said Simonsen admitted to consuming alcohol before she got in an accident in Washington Township Nov. 8, 2016. Sentence: five years of county intermediate punishment to be carried out in Maryland after Simonsen’s current sentence ends, with five years in prison, house arrest for 150 days, concurrent electronic alcohol monitoring for 210 days, a $1,525 fine, 40 hours of community service, five sessions of driver improvement school and a driver’s license suspension.
Valarie Marie Rife, 21, of 762 Stonehill Road, Rogersville. Three counts of theft by unlawful taking and three counts of receiving stolen property. State police said Rife took $190 from an elderly female she was caring for on two separate occasions in July. Sentence: 18 months probation, $190 restitution to Family Ties Home Care, Inc. and 70 hours of community service.
Zjebeliah Krawkfrd-Tomis Walters, 22, of 637 Walnut Hill Road, Dilliner. Possession of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Cumberland Township police stopped Walters July 28, 2015, and found heroin, stamp bags and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Sentence: 21 days to a year in prison and 60 hours of community service.
Rebecca L. Reynolds, 33, of 441. S. Eighty-Eight Road, Carmichaels. Possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Cumberland Township police found a glass smoking device and a synthetic cannabinoid in her vehicle Nov. 4, 2016, in the parking lot of Brodak’s Shop ‘n Save near Carmichaels. Sentence: three days to a year in prison and 80 hours of community service.
Terry A. Ross Jr., 34, of 418 Roosevelt Blvd., Nemacolin. Theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at nighttime, five counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and five counts possession of a controlled substance. Cumberland Township police said Ross was attempting to take something off a porch at 63 Diaz Ave., Carmichaels, Sept. 25. Suspected drugs and a glass smoking device were found in his pockets. Sentence: two years probation and 60 hours of community service.
Jodi Renee Reggetz, 43, of 427 Race St., Waynesburg. Disorderly conduct. Waynesburg police said they responded a woman screaming on a porch at 20 W. Elm St. on Sept. 23. Reggetz pulled away from officers and was detained after being Tasered twice. Sentence: one day to six months in jail, a $100 fine, ordered to attend family-based therapy and 30 hours of community service.
Matthew James Roberts, 30, of 305 W. George St., Carmichaels. Receiving stolen property and theft by deception. State police said Roberts sold a set of tires and wheels on Facebook reported stolen from the South Hills Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in McMurray. Sentence: two years probation, remain in counseling and 30 hours community service.
Ryan Christopher O’Hara, 27, of 92 S. West St., Waynesburg. Delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance. On Nov. 1, 2016, O’Hara sold $100 worth of crack cocaine to an undercover detective with the Greene County Drug Task Force. Sentence: six to 23 ½ months in jail, $100 in restitution to the task force, 40 hours of community service.
