CUMBERLAND
Endangering children charge: Angelia Marie Bowser, 27, of 315 Parkview Knoll, was charged Dec. 1 with endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and harassment. Cumberland Township police were dispatched to 502 Parkview Knoll Nov. 9 and said Bowser was fighting with Kathryn Neel after Bowser’s daughter stayed at Neel’s home.
Endangering children charge: Roy A. Baker, 62, of 207 Stagecoach Road, Nemacolin, was charged Dec. 11 with endangering the welfare of children, two counts of driving under the influence and two summary traffic offenses after Cumberland Township police said they stopped him Dec. 4 on West George Street after a witness called 911 and said he was driving erratically. Police said Baker was driving his granddaughter to a scouts meeting, according to the criminal complaint, and his blood-alcohol level was 0.220.
Retail theft charges: Christopher M. Swaney, 45, of New Salem, was arrested Saturday and charged with felony retail theft and receiving stolen property. Cumberland Township police said Swaney took 33 candy bars and two cans of sugar on Saturday, and an insert from a magazine Thursday at the Sheetz convenience store on Route 88 in the township. He is free on $10,000 bond.
