CANTON
Vehicle struck: A 79-year-old McMurray man reported to state police Friday afternoon an unknown driver struck his vehicle while it was parked in the 100 block of Ford Street. The driver fled the scene.
NORTH BETHLEHEM
Crash reported: Two drivers were injured in a Thursday afternoon crash on East National Pike. State police said Linda Y. Desch, 75, of Washington, was driving eastbound when she made a left turn right in front of a westbound driver, Lucas A. Johnstone, 20, of Charleroi. Johnstone’s car struck Desch’s vehicle before striking two other parked cars nearby. Police said Johnstone and Desch were taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital with suspected minor injuries. Johnstone had two other passengers, a 17-year-old and a 13-year-old, of Fredericktown, who were not injured, police said. Desch was cited for a traffic violation.
SOUTH STRABANE
Crash reported: State police said no one was injured in a Friday crash on Interstate 79. Police said Alan S. Parks, 25, of Wheeling, W. Va., was driving a dump truck east in the left lane, when he merged into the right lane, not seeing another vehicle right beside him. Sarah N. Ghattas, 24, of Oreland, was driving in the right lane when Parks struck her car twice, causing it to spin into the median.
