Smith, 53, of Southwest Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Friday with receiving stolen property, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving with a suspended license, disregarding traffic lanes, driving too fast for conditions, careless driving and other vehicle-code violations. Smith allegedly was driving a 2013 Toyota Scion when it crashed into a guardrail on I-70 west in Donegal Township July 1. The vehicle’s owner, who reportedly doesn’t know Smith, told a trooper she’d parked the vehicle at her sister’s residence on East National Pike, Amwell Township, about a year earlier and removed the license plate. The owner of the property had last seen the car there the day before the accident. District Judge Ethan Ward issued a warrant for Smith’s arrest.
