State Sen. Camera Bartolotta, R-Carroll Township, will host a panel discussion Thursday in Washington to address questions regarding legislation she recently introduced to help mothers and infants affected by postpartum depression.

The panel discussion will be held from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center, 240 Wellness Way, Washington.

The discussion, which will be hosted by Bartolotta in conjunction with the #StrongMomStrongBaby coalition, will focus on Senate Bill 200. The legislation would add postpartum depression to the list of conditions that qualify for state assistance, including developmental assessments, follow-up services and early intervention services, if necessary.

The event will include community leaders and medical providers whose area of expertise includes women’s health, perinatal care, psychiatry and family counseling.
