A protection-from-abuse order hearing against a Canon-McMillan High School teacher was continued Tuesday in Washington County Court.

Debra and John Abajace were granted temporary PFA orders Dec. 19 against their brother-in-law, Timothy P. Mousetis, 60, of East Washington. The hearing for a permanent PFA order was continued by Common Pleas Senior Judge John C. Reed to March 7.

Mousetis, former head wrestling coach for Canon-McMillan and Chartiers-Houston school districts, faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and driving under the influence. He allegedly struck John Abajace, a former head wrestling coach for Trinity High School, and his wife Dec. 16 inside The Golf Club of Washington, 599 Country Club Road, South Strabane Township.

Mousetis is scheduled for a Jan. 31 preliminary hearing before District Judge Jay Weller.

Canon-McMillan Superintendent Michael Daniels said the district will not comment on personnel matters.
