Theft: Michael Allen Rickard Sr., 24, of 133 Dunn Station Road, Prosperity, was charged by state police with theft by deception for allegedly taking $20 from Jefferson Market on Dec. 2. Police said Rickard was in the store buying a pack of cigarettes with a $50 bill. He accused the cashier of not giving him the correct change, so she gave him an additional $20, more than what he was actually due, police said.

Fugitive arrested: Briar Jones, 21, of the 1500 block of Aleppo Road, Wind Ridge, was arrested by Greene County sheriff’s deputies Wednesday on a warrant out of Marshall County, W.Va. Deputies said the warrant was issued in November and multiple agencies had been looking for him. Deputies said they found him on a well pad access road in Aleppo Township.
