Police beat Jan. 14
Faces charges: Jeffrey Alan Cunningham, 31, of 312 E. Third St., Langeloth, will be charged by McDonald police with carrying a firearm without a license, having a prohibited offensive weapon, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving stemming from a one-vehicle crash Dec. 3 on Route 18 in Burgettstown. Police said Cunningham fled. An officer followed leaking fluids and found the vehicle had crashed into an embankment on Langeloth Road. Police said Cunningham’s blood-alcohol content was almost three times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. Police said they also found a gun in the vehicle, and that Cunningham does not have a permit to carry a weapon. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Money stolen: Canonsburg police are investigating the theft of $1,642 by a former employee of Advance Auto, 315 Adams Ave. Charges are pending.
Vehicles damaged: Canonsburg police were called about 6:45 p.m. Thursday to Route 980 near the Cecil Township line after several vehicles were damaged from hitting two potholes, one about 4 inches deep and the second about 7 1/2 inches deep. A subcontractor for Columbia Gas was called to make repairs to the road, police said.
McDONALD
Employee charged: Thomas Weaverling Jr., 32, of 322 Kay St., McDonald, was arrested Wednesday by McDonald police on a charge of theft after he allegedly stole about $1,000 while working at the Subway restaurant, 108 W. Lincoln Ave. Police said he is seen on surveillance taking money from the register on several occasions while he was working in December. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and released from Washington County Jail after posting $1,500 bond.
MIDWAY
Faces charges: Corey Thomas Wauthier, 24, of 419 Walnut St., Midway, will be charged by McDonald police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after police say he was found with the drug when Washington County adult probation officers went to his home to serve him with a bench warrant Thursday morning. Wauthier was placed in Washington County Jail on the bench warrant. He will be arraigned later before District Judge Gary Havelka on the drug charges.
NORTH STRABANE
Three charged: Johnny Dixon, 19, of 405 Cherry St., Houston, and Joshua David Klose, 20, of 460 Hunting Creek Road were charged with underage drinking stemming and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident about 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Devon Stevenson, 20, of 1047 Elizabeth St., McMurray, was charged with underage drinking. Police were calling to the 400 block of Hunting Creek for a report of people yelling.
WASHINGTON
Warrant arrest: James Delaney, 33, of 570 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was taken into custody Thursday by Washington police and placed in Washington County Jail on a bench warrant. Delaney also was charged with possession of parpahernalia after police said he was found with items when taken into custody on McCarrell Avenue.
Purse stolen: Jennifer Bickler of Wheeling, W.Va., told Washington police Thursday that her purse was stolen while she was at Goodwill on West Beau Street.
Cable cut: Ralph Ferraro of 516 Fayette St. told Washington police Thursday that vandals cut a cable outside his home.
