Police beat Jan. 17
Posts damaged: Daniel Bitz of Chartiers told township police Friday that shots were fired, damaging fenceposts on property he owns on McConnells Mills Road.
Driver injured: Danielle N. Williams of 514 W. College St., Canonsburg, was injured early Friday when her vehicle went off Western Avenue, hitting shrubs. She told Chartiers police that she swerved to avoid a deer. Williams was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.
Harassment: Isaiah Grimes, 20, no address available, faces a harassment charge after state police were called to a fight early Monday at a home on Log Cabin Road, Marianna.
Assault arrest: Gina M. Pietosi, 39, of Pittsburgh, was arrested Saturday night by North Strabane police on charges of simple assault, harassment and possession of paraphernalia after she allegedly assaulted a 45-year-old man at his Carol Drive home. Police said they also found her with a crack pipe. She was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and released from Washington County jail after posting $2,500 bond.
Guardrail hit: Anna Tordella, 21, of Wheeling, W.Va., faces a charge of leaving the scene of an accident after state police said her car spun into a guardrail on Interstate 79 near the south junction with Interstate 70 at 3:30 a.m. Saturday. The police report did not indicate if she was injured.
Drug possession alleged: Jennifer R. Duff, 44, of 11 Chase Lane, Avella, will be charged by Washington police with possession of a controlled substance after she was allegedly found with suspected Oxycontin during an incident Friday in the 600 block of Addison Street.
Checkbook stolen: Kelley Allen of Washington told Washington police Friday her checkbook was stolen from her office at Washington Hospital. A witness reportedly confronted two women who were in the office. The women left the office. Security video will be checked.
Burglary attempt: Roberta Kramer-Prager of 40 Brookside Ave. told Washington police that a storm door was damaged in an apparent break-in attempt at her home.
Teen charged: A 17-year-old Washington boy was taken to the Jefferson County (Ohio) Juvenile Detention Center on charges including aggravated assault after an incident Sunday at his home at 1149 Bruce St. Police said he tried to hit an officer but instead hit his mother in the face. He also is accused of damaging an officer’s uniform shirt and watch.
