Police beat Jan. 20
Harassment alleged: Joshua D. Stone, 29, of 126 Jeanne St., Washington, was charged Tuesday by state police with harassment and disorderly conduct. He is accused of calling his ex-girlfriend at her Amwell home 46 times and sending her 500 text messages. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Theft alleged: Taylor Leigh Smith, 21, of 3749 Buffalo Creek Road, Avella, was charged this week by Donegal Township police with access device fraud and theft. She is accused of stealing a Donegal woman’s debit card from her home and then using it to withdraw $400 from an automated teller machine at First Federal bank at 2980 S Bridge Road Dec. 7. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Crash reported: James Joseph Deangelo, 18, of Venetia, was driving in the 300 block of California Road and damaged property about 3 a.m. Thursday, California police said. He was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine his alcohol level, police said.
Theft charge: Zachary Johnson, 29, of Mansfield, Tioga County, will be charged with misdemeanor retail theft after he allegedly stole an item early Wednesday from Kwik Fill, Third Street, California police said.
Driver charged: Matthew Radlinsky, 47, of 309 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg, was charged this week by Canonsburg police with driving under the influence of alcohol and having open containers of alcohol stemming from a Jan. 2 incident in the 500 West Pike Street when police said he almost hit an oncoming vehicle head-on. Police said the other driver had to swerve to avoid a crash, and that they found several open cans of beer in Radlinsky’s vehicle. Radlinsky’s blood-alcohol level was almost 4 1/2 times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed, according to police. Driver hurt: Melissa J. Fisher, 48, of Washington, was injured when the vehicle she was driving went off South Hewitt Avenue near McClay Road, hit a utility pole and flipped onto its side Tuesday, state police said. She was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.
Driver charged: Robert Lee Post, 48, of 2690 Old National Pike, Washington, was charged Wednesday by state police with DUI, illegal parking and careless driving after police said he was found slumped behind the wheel in the middle of a one-way road in a Canton mobile home park just off Henderson Avenue on Dec. 31. Police said his blood-alcohol level was more than double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Firearms violation: Joshua J. Grimes, 36, of Houston, Texas, was charged Wednesday by state police with carrying a firearm without a license after he allegedly was found with two Glock handguns in a room at Red Roof Inn, West Chestnut Street, Canton, in January 2014. Police were called to a room for a domestic dispute. The charge will be sent by summons.
Unsworn falsification charges: Jonathan T. Houston, 26, of 4080 Park Ave., Prosperity, was charged this week by state police with illegal sale or transfer of a firearm and unsworn falsification. He is accused of giving false information on a gun permit application during a Feb. 27, 2016, gun bash at Washington County Fairgrounds. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Receiving stolen property: Zachary B. Reddick, 27, of Observatory, Allegheny County, was charged this week by Chartiers police with receiving stolen property after he allegedly sold jewelry stolen from a Liekar Lane home at a Bellevue jewelry store Nov. 7. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
DUI, drug charges: Cody Steven Stewart, 21, of 8684 Noblestown Road, McDonald, was charged Wednesday by McDonald police with DUI, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and a red light violation stemming from a traffic stop Saturday at the intersection of North McDonald Street and West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald. His blood-alcohol level was almost three times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Traci McDonald.
Burglary charges: Alexis Chantal Sherman, 24, of 19 Madison St., Cokeburg, was placed in Washington County jail on charges of burglary, harassment and criminal mischief in connection with an incident Dec. 17 at 415 W. Maiden St. Sherman was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Robert Redlinger. She is accused of breaking glass on the front door to enter the building, then shoving James Sickles into a wall, causing damage to the drywall. The cost to repair the damage was $175, police said. Bail was set at $5,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Feb. 1.
Caregiver charged: Tanisha Renee Johnson, 22, of 515 Henderson Ave., Washington, was charged Tuesday by state police with theft and forgery for allegedly stealing a check from a home on Deerfield Road, South Franklin, while working as a caregiver in October. She then attempted to cash the check for $250 but was not allowed to because the signature did not match that of the account holder, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Burglary arrest: Bianca Jackson, 23, of 59 Griffith Ave., Washington, was arrested Wednesday by Washington police on charges of burglary, criminal mischief and harassment for allegedly breaking into a home at 31 Buttonwood Ave. The alleged victim told police Jackson broke a basement window trying to get a kitten. Police got a description and found Jackson near Washington Hospital. She was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and released on $500 unsecured bond.
Weed trimmers stolen: Dave McVay of 166 Elm St. told Washington police Wednesday two weed trimmers were stolen from his porch.
