Police beat Jan. 22
Theft: An unkown suspect removed the tailgate from a vehicle that was parked at the Jessop Place Park and Ride in Canton Township sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Criminal mischief: Scott M. Brady, 28, of 1224 Church Ave., McKees Rocks, was charged by North Franklin Township police with unauthorized use of a vehicle, harassment, criminal mischief, accident involving damage and two traffic summary offenses following an incident Friday night on North Franklin Drive. Police said Brady and his girlfriend Haley Jenkins were arguing before he allegedly slashed her tire, intentionally backed into her vehicle and left the scene. Police later stopped Brady for a traffic violation, during which he was driving Jenkins’ car without permission.
Firearm violation: Geordan Lee Warren, 22, of 200 17th St., Arnold, was charged by North Strabane Township police with illegal possession of a firearm, receiving stolen property, firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop early Saturday morning at Boone Avenue and Latimer Avenue. Police said while searching the vehicle for marijuana, they found a handgun under the front seats. Warren, the passenger, told police it was his and admitted to not having a concealed carry permit. Police discovered the gun was loaded and stolen from Fayette County and Warren is prohibited from owning a gun because of a previous felony conviction.
Retail theft: Amanda Molinaro, 34, of 990 Broad St., Washington, was charged by Peters Township police with felony retail theft after she allegedly stole $760 worth of cigarettes from a BP Oil gas station Jan. 6. Police said Molinaro was seen on a surveillance camera taking cigarettes from a box on the floor of the store. Police said Molinaro has prior retail theft offenses.
Harassment: Johnnie Jay Jones Jr., 27, of 291 Chapel Hill Road, Claysville, was charged by state police with harassment for allegedly yelling at his mother, throwing her phone and shoving her at 11 a.m. Friday at a residence in the 800 block of Rocky Run Road. Police said they are still searching for Jones, who is also wanted on a warrant for simple assault.
