Police: Man robbed at gunpoint close to Clarksville residence
CLARKSVILLE – A Clarksville man allegedly was robbed at gunpoint early Friday morning near his home.
State police said they responded to 60 Church Street in Clarksville, where James Teagarden told them he had been robbed by Joseph Denzel Rhome, 19, of Bentleyville.
Teagarden told police he was walking home from a friend’s house just after midnight Friday when Rhome came up behind him and put a gun to his back.
“Give me all of your (expletive) money. I know you got money,” Rhome allegedly said to Teagarden, according to the criminal complaint.
Teagarden told police he gave Rhome $120. Teagarden and Rhome have known each other for about two years and used to be neighbors, police said.
Rhome was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery, terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangerment, theft, receiving stolen property, harassment and disorderly conduct.
He is being held in Greene County jail on $75,000 bond, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 1 before District Judge Lee Watson.
