Rain causes some flooding
The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for Washington and Greene counties at about 4:30 p.m. Monday as steady rain throughout the day caused minor flooding of areas near streams and creeks.
In Washington, Sammy Angott Way was temporarily closed because of flooding.
The National Weather Service advised drivers to be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Southwestern Pennsylvania saw between three-quarters and an inch and a quarter of rain Monday, and up to another half-inch was expected Monday night.
