Theft: State police are investigating an attempted scam that happened the morning of June 10. Police said someone called a New Freeport man at his Wildman Hill Road residence and told the victim that he was going to turn him in to the police for child pornography unless he sent $2,444 through Western Union. The victim contacted police about the phone call.

Theft: State police said someone removed a cattle gate and an attached lock from a fence surrounding a well site on Norman Hollow Road between July 5 and 11.
