MILLVALE (AP) – Two laborers have been hurt when the facade of a vacant building under renovation collapsed onto them in a Pittsburgh suburb.

Emergency crews say the collapse occurred about 10 a.m. Tuesday in Millvale.

A crew of five men was on a lower, front roof of the building when its facade fell. Three men were able to get away without injury, but two were hit by debris and hurt, including one man who was briefly trapped beneath some of the rubble.

A paramedic supervisor at the scene told WTAE-TV that the men’s injuries included cuts, bruises and broken boned. They were taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, which has a top trauma unit.

It wasn’t immediately clear who owns the building or what caused the facade to give way.
