Claysville driver charged in crash

A Claysville man has been charged in a crash that resulted in the death of a West Virginia man.
Joshua Wayne Kraushaar, 23, of 84 Jansen Road, Claysville, faces two felony charges, driving under the influence causing death and fleeing an accident involving a fatality, in the Sunday crash that occurred in Ohio County, W.Va.
Brandon Gates, 22, of Triadelphia, an occupant of a second vehicle involved in the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupant, Robert Staymate Jr., was hospitalized with serious leg injuries.
According to Ohio County Sheriff Tom Howard, the crash occurred on Route 40 in the Valley Grove area about 11:15 p.m. Sunday. Kraushaar allegedly left the scene and was found by police around 3 a.m. Monday in the area of the crash. According to police, Kraushaar, who was not seriously injured, was placed in West Virginia Northern Regional jail. Bond information was not immediately available.
Howard said the crash is under investigation.
