Action: The county will be seeking bids for renovation and additions to the former juvenile detention center at 50 Hickory Road, which will become the new offices of the Washington County Conservation District. When the project is complete, the conservation district offices will be moving from 2800 North Main St. in Arden, Chartiers Township.
The board approved an easement with Shell Pipeline Co., which has agreed to pay the county $15,000 in exchange for allowing horizontal boring under the Panhandle Trail in Robinson Township near Noblestown Road. A date for the work has not been scheduled, but when it occurs, Lisa Cessna, executive director of Washington County Planning Commission, which oversees the trail and county parks, does not anticipate closing the trail.
The county extended its lease with the Washington County Fair and the Washington County History and Landmarks Foundation for use of the John White house on the fairgrounds in Arden, Chartiers Township, through May 31, 2027.
At the request of the finance department, the board approved a three-year extension of an agreement with the Maher Duessel accounting firm to audit the county retirement fund for 2016 through 2018 at a cost of $2,000 per year.
At the request of the Children and Youth Services agency, the commissioners approved a $50,000 agreement with City Mission Living Stones Inc. of Fayette County to provide residential and community-based services through June 30 without requiring county funds.
At the request of the Human Services department, the commissioners approved a yearlong purchase-of-service agreement with the Washington County Transportation Authority through June 30. The contract authorization amount increased $532,099 to $2,793,179 without requiring county funds.
