Replacement of Cecil bridge to begin

A project to replace the Route 50 (Millers Run Road) bridge, spanning Millers Run in Cecil Township, is scheduled to begin the week of June 19, the state Department of Transportation announced. The bridge construction is part of PennDOT’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Washington County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
Construction is expected to be completed in early September. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 980 and Muse Bishop Road.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is one of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, a joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
