PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Authorities are looking for the person who left two baby raccoons to die in a trash bag in Philadelphia.

A passerby alerted authorities after noticing the bag was moving near Lawrence Street and the raccoons were taken to the Pennsylvania SPCA’s hospital.

The two were transferred to the Schuylkill Center’s Wildlife Center, where officials hope they’ll be released into the wild.

Officials say the person who left the animals in the trash could face animal cruelty charges.
