Brownsville man arrested

A Brownsville man was arrested Monday on a warrant obtained by East Bethlehem police accusing him of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend at a Frederick Terrace home last month.
Tirik Devon Thomas, 27, of 50 South Hills Terrace, is accused of assaulting his girlfriend after a May 24 argument.
Police were called to her home. The alleged victim told police the two got into an argument after she learned he was cheating on her.
The argument turned physical when he allegedly grabbed her by the hair, ripping a small portion out. He then allegedly threw her to the floor and threatened to kick her in the stomach, knowing she is pregnant.
Thomas allegedly took her 2013 Dodge Dart without permission and fled. The alleged victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel for stomach pains but refused to be transported to a hospital, police said.
Thomas was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of simple assault, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats, harassment and unauthorized use of a vehicle. He was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. Thomas is scheduled for a June 26 preliminary hearing before District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
