Marianna councilman cited over dog attack

MARIANNA – A Marianna councilman has been cited for allegedly harboring a dangerous dog that severely injured a boy last month outside the councilman’s home.
State police also cited James David Faure, 42, for failing to firmly secure his dog by means of a collar and chain and failing to have a license for the dog, named Rocky, court records show.
Police said the 11-year-old boy was severely bitten by Rocky outside 523 Fourth St. about 8:10 p.m. May 25.
Faure has yet to respond to the three citations that were filed June 7 before District Judge Curtis Thompson in Bentleyville.
The boy’s parents, Artie and Melody Speicher, could not be reached Thursday for comment.
The boy reportedly received numerous stitches to close a wound to his upper right arm in the attack outside Faure’s residence, which is a block away from the child’s home.
Faure did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment Thursday.
