Hanover Township police confiscated psychedelic mushrooms, ecstasy, marijuana and assorted paraphernalia being sold in the parking lot of KeyBank Pavilion, and several people were arrested during Thursday night’s Dead & Company concert.

John J. Wolensky, 53, of Prospect Park, Delaware County, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, harassment and soliciting without a permit after he was told by police to put away the display of rugs he had in the bus lot at the pavilion. He allegedly confronted the officers, started yelling at them and walked away. When police walked after him to issue a citation for peddling, he allegedly refused their orders to stop and resisted when they tried to take him into custody. One officer was slightly injured and had to be treated by medical personnel at the venue.

Wolensky was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.

Also arraigned before Havelka was Joseph Patrick Jeffers, 42, of West Linn, Ore. He was arrested after police said they spotted him staggering and uttering incoherent sentences. Jeffers also reportedly ignored police orders to stop. He was charged with public drunkenness, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was placed in jail on $5,000 bond.

Zachary Wayne Thorne, 24, of Florissant, Colo., and Richard Hull III, 24, of Brackney, Susquehanna County, were arrested on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and criminal trespass after they allegedly were found selling bowls used to smoke marijuana in the lot. Police said the men had two large bags of marijuana and other marijuana packaged for individual sale in their vehicle. Neither man had a ticket for the concert, so they were not authorized to be on the property. Both were arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and jailed on $15,000 bonds.

Also arraigned before Redlinger on drug charges were Christian Lee Brindel, 46, of Marathon, Fla.; Christopher Holland, 45, of Erie, and Daniel R. Wasnick, 29, of Cleveland, Ohio. Brindel and Holland each allegedly had psychedelic mushrooms and marijuana, while Wasnick allegedly possessed ecstasy. All three were jailed on $5,000 bonds.

Kevin Griffin Jr., 34, of Greensburg, is being charged by summons sent from Havelka’s office with possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct after he allegedly was found with suspected ecstasy and marijuana.

Several other people were taken into custody by police and will be charged when paperwork is completed.

Hanover police also issued citations, mostly for disorderly conduct, to more than three dozen other people at the concert.
