3 injured in South Strabane crash

An Ohio man was flown to a Pittsburgh trauma center and two elderly women were taken by ambulance to Washington Hospital following an accident on Route 19 in South Strabane Township Sunday.
South Strabane Officer Ryan Hoffman said the 57-year-old man ran a red light as he drove north on Route 19. The Jeep Patriot he was driving collided in front of the entrance to Trinity Point Drive with a Kia Sorrento that was crossing the busy state highway after pulling out of Strabane Square.
Hoffman described the man’s condition as serious and said he was flown to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital.
His 86-year-old mother, who’d been riding with him in the Jeep, and the elderly Washington woman who was driving the Kia were taken to Washington hospital by Ambulance and Chair Service and Canonsburg Ambulance Service. Hoffman described the two women’s injuries as nonlife-threatening.
He declined to release the patients’ names before their families were notified. He said the driver of the Jeep is from Oxford, Ohio, and his mother is from Fairfield, also in Ohio.
