Greene court cases

A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty and were sentenced last week by Greene County Court Judge Lou Dayich.
Mark Allen Sanders, 33, of 230 Titus St., Bobtown: offenses – driving after imbibing a controlled substance, a summary traffic violation; Sanders was arrested Sept. 10 after a two-vehicle crash in Dunkard Township; he was under the influence of Xanax; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail; Sanders was permitted to serve the 72 hours on house arrest; $525 in fines, 60 hours of community service
Sandra Kay Moore, 60, of 829 Hargus Creek Road, Waynesburg; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol, two summary violations; arrested Dec. 21 following a single-vehicle crash in Franklin Township, she had a blood-alcohol content of 0.218 percent; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $525 fine, 30 hours of community service.
Ralph R. Allen, 43, of 87 ½ W. Greene St., Waynesburg; offenses – simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment; on Jan. 3, during an argument, Allen wrapped his arm around a woman’s neck from behind and lifted her from the ground; the woman suffered an injury to her nose; sentence – 2 years of probation, $100 fine, 60 hours of community service.
Janet Carol Rudy, 27, of 397 Roosevelt Lane, Nemacolin; offenses – three counts each of theft and receiving stolen property; while employed at Walmart between March 21 and April 12, 2009, Rudy stole $340 from the cash register; sentence – time served from May 29 to June 13 to 23 ½ months in jail, restitution.
Frank Edward Mitzen Jr., 35, of 125 Fairview Ave., Waynesburg; offenses – two counts each of terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment; one count of disorderly conduct; on Jan. 15, 2016, Mitzen threatened a friend of his estranged wife while holding a shotgun and a knife; sentence – 5 years of probation; credit for 3 days served in jail; $400 in fines, 60 hours of community service.
Alison Kay Kiger, 37, of 2102 Golden Oaks Road, Holbrook; offense – DUI; on Nov. 5, Kiger was arrested with a BAC of 0.131 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail; $300 fine; 35 hours of community service.
Joseph Eli Willard, 40, of 1163 WW Railroad Road, Sycamore; offenses – DUI, four summary violations; arrested Dec. 21 following a single-vehicle crash in Morgan Township, he had a BAC of 0.158 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail; $400 fine, 60 hours of community service.
Jennifer L. Marshall, 36, of 142 East Alley, Waynesburg; two cases, offenses – two counts each of endangering the welfare of a child and disorderly conduct; one count each recklessly endangering, simple assault and harassment; on July 21, Marshall dragged her 7-year-old daughter by the hair and her 4-year-old son by the ear at Wana B Park; she did not cooperate with police; on Feb. 17, Marshall attempted to strangle her boyfriend with a cord at a home on Ceylon Road; sentence – 3 years of county intermediate punishment, with 14 days in jail and credit for 14 days served; 60 days of alcohol monitoring; continuing mental health treatment; 100 hours of community service.
Josef M. Kurincak, 35, of 209 Bliss Ave., Nemacolin; offenses – DUI, damage to an attended vehicle or property, four summary violations; following a two-vehicle crash April 9, 2016, in Cumberland Township, Kurincak had a BAC of 0.233 percent and had methadone in his system; sentence – 48 hours of 6 months in jail; $600 in fines, 30 hours of community service.
