A Pittsburgh man was arrested Tuesday by Washington police after he allegedly was seen with a gun in the pocket of his pants during a confrontation at the Pinto baseball field in Washington Park.

Daniel Charles Jordan, 36, of Pittsburgh, was taken into custody after he left the field.

Police were called about 6:35 p.m. for a fight at the field. As police were on their way, they learned the suspect left in an orange vehicle. The vehicle was spotted by an officer as it turned onto East Wheeling Street and then a dead-end alley.

When the vehicle, driven by a woman, stopped, Jordan got out of the passenger side. He reportedly admitted to being involved in an altercation but denied having a gun. The driver told police she had a gun in her purse. A Smith & Wesson handgun was found in her purse on the floor on the passenger side of the vehicle. The driver told police she owned the gun. Police said she has a concealed-carry permit for the weapon.

Police talked to witnesses at the field and were told Jordan had become belligerent, yelling at coaches and other fans. When he was told to stop yelling, he allegedly made threats to kill people and told a woman he was going to slit her throat. Witnesses told police they could see the gun in the back pocket of his pants.

Jordan was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of person not to possess a firearm, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. He was placed in Washington County jail on $100,000 bond. Jordan is scheduled for a July 5 preliminary hearing before District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Police also indicated they plan to charge the driver by summons but did not indicate what charges she faces.
