Loitering, theft arrest: Sam Bruno III, 21, of 437 Highfield St., Canonsburg, was arrested Sunday night by Canonsburg police after a Ridge Avenue resident reported seeing him in her vehicle, using his cellphone as a flashlight. When she confronted him, he ran. Police later found him at his home. Bruno allegedly admitted to breaking into vehicles in the area. Police said he had a backpack containing items including Yankee candles, a change purse and a cellphone charger. He was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins on charges of theft, loitering and prowling at night and possession of paraphernalia. He was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

Warrant arrest: Darlene Rubis, 58, of Bridgeville, was arrested on a warrant after she failed to respond to a charge of false reports filed against her by Canonsburg police stemming from an April 5 incident. She was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and released on her own recognizance.

Items stolen: Travis Holt and Kaneesha Fleming told Canonsburg police Thursday items were stolen from their home. Holt said $80 was stolen, while Fleming said her purse containing $80 and identification was stolen.

Teen charged: A 17-year-old Canonsburg boy will be charged by Cecil police in a juvenile allegation with possession of a controlled substance after he was found Friday with suspected Xanax while walking on Georgetown Road. He was placed in Jefferson County (Ohio) Juvenile Detention Center on a juvenile probation violation.

Driver injured: Edward Donati, 84, of Cecil, was injured when his vehicle hit a utility pole about 6:15 p.m. Saturday on Morgan Road near the Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Donati told Cecil police he had swerve to avoid an oncoming red sport utility vehicle that crossed into his lane. He was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.

Probation violation alleged: Louis Gasvoda, 48, of Cecil, was taken into custody Thursday by Cecil police on a probation violation and placed in Washington County jail.

Restaurant cited: The operator of All Star Sports Bar & Grille, 1500 Main St., Southpointe Town Center, Cecil, was cited Monday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly selling an alcoholic beverage to a 19-year-old May 20.

Drug charges: Kurtis Wayne Lowe, 32, of 7 Wharf St., Dunlevy, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with possessing heroin and drug paraphernalia while working at World Kitchen, 100 Eighth St., about 8 p.m. June 21, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charges by summons Friday.

Assault arrest: Nancy Crawford, 59, of 120 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg, was arrested Sunday by Chartiers police on a charge of simple assault for allegedly hitting Frank Isgro III, 52, during an incident at 390 Ewing St., Meadow Lands. She was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $2,500 bond. Isgro was placed in jail on a bench warrant.

Assault alleged: Angela Renee Beresh, 33, of 848 Donner Ave., Westgate Manor, Monessen, is charged by city police with simple assault and harassment over allegations she struck Matthew Galante in the face and pushed him to the floor about 1:10 a.m. Sunday in her apartment, court records show. She is free on $2,500 unsecured bond set Monday by District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.

Assault warrant: Sherman Smith, 30, of 201 Teepee Road, McMurray, was arraigned last week by District Judge David Mark on a charge of simple assault filed by Pittsburgh police after he allegedly assaulted his 31-year-old girlfriend during a confrontation earlier this month on Brownsville Road. He is in Allegheny County jail on $50,000 bond.

Theft by deception: Police were informed Sunday by an employee of Giant Eagle she received a call regarding a “sick uncle” in Florida and had wired $400 by Western Union before determining the information was not accurate. Police are investigating.

Theft reported: Police received a report Sunday from a woman who attended a party at a Trillium Place residence the night before and discovered that her Louis Vuitton wallet, valued at $1,000, was missing. It contained $50 in cash.

Theft from vehicle: Police are investigating the reported theft of $300 in cash from a vehicle parked in a lot off Valley Drive on Saturday. The purse from which the money was stolen was recovered. Police said the vehicle was not locked.

Hit-and-run: A black Ford Econoline van that was involved in an accident Saturdayat Sugar Camp and Church Hill roads left the scene, police said. The van struck a vehicle carrying a driver and three passengers, none of whom was injured. The van had to be towed. The Ford was located unoccupied, and the driver could not be found, according to police.

Woman jailed: Christina Lynn Pocky, 28, of 504 Underwood Ave., Roscoe, is charged by Roscoe, Elco, Stockdale and Allenport Regional police with possession of heroin paraphernalia about 11:35 p.m. June 17 in her bedroom, court records show. She was placed in Washington County jail on a parole violation and $15,000 bond set Friday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Theft alleged: Dorothy Mae McQuillis, 46, of 502 10th St., Charleroi, is charged by township police with theft and receiving stolen property over allegations she stole a wallet containing $20 that a customer dropped about 11 p.m. June 13 inside Walmart, 100 Sara Way, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charge Monday in a summons.

DUI alleged in crash: Jennifer L. Burrows, 51, of Martinville, Ind., was arrested Thursday by South Strabane police on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after she allegedly crashed her vehicle on Locust Avenue. Police said her blood-alcohol content was double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. She was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and released from Washington County jail after posting $10,000 bond.

Theft arrest: Danielle Martin, 28, of Munhall, was arrested Saturday by South Strabane police on charges of conspiracy, retail theft and possession of marijuana after she allegedly was caught trying to steal items valued at $2,154 from Home Depot on Murtland Avenue. The man she was with fled. She was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.

Trespass charge: Paul W. Conklin, 68, of 195 Shirls Ave., Washington, will be charged by South Strabane police with criminal trespass after he allegedly admitted to removing copper from discarded appliances behind Lowe’s in Strabane Square early Monday.

Vehicle damaged: Crystal Meerdo of North Franklin Township told South Strabane police that her vehicle was damaged while it was parked Sunday at Northgate Plaza.

Counterfeit bill: South Strabane police said a counterfeit $50 bill was passed Saturday at Sam’s Club, Trinity Point.

Man assaulted: Michael Montgomery of Washington told Washington police Sunday he was punched in the face by another man as he walked on Sumner Avenue. Montgomery was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Charges are pending.

Faces charges: Heather Arbogast, 33, of 6 Lee St., McDonald, was placed in Washington County jail Sunday on a probation violation after she allegedly was involved in a disturbance at 501 Jefferson Ave. Police also plan to charge her with false identification to police and disorderly conduct.

Vehicle damaged: Alexis Spruce of Washington told Washington police Saturday the sunroof, door and hood of her vehicle were damaged while it was parked in the lot at Chestnut Court Apartments. The rain guards also were ripped from a window.
