Assault arrest: Charles Mitcham, 29, of Wheeling, W.Va., was arrested Sunday by Canonsburg police after he allegedly punched a 31-year-old man in the face during a confrontation at 324 Ketchum Drive. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of simple assault and harassment. Mitcham was released from Washington County Jail Monday after posting $25,000 bond.

Woman charged twice: Christina L. Louk, 37, of 11 E. McNutt St., Houston, was charged this week by Canonsburg police with felony retail theft and defiant trespass stemming from separate incidents last month at Shop ‘n Save, 617 W. Pike St. She is accused of stealing $166.76 in groceries on April 25. She was then charged with trespass after going to the store April 30 despite being banned from the property two years ago, police said. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Teens face charges: Two 14-year-old Canonsburg boys will be charged in a juvenile petition by Canonsburg police with criminal mischief for allegedly breaking two legs on a chair at Frank Sarris Library, 35 N. Jefferson Ave., Wednesday. Police said the boys were reportedly engaged in horseplay.

Resisting charge: Kelly Stankiewicz, 38, of 870 Grove Ave., Washington, was charged this week by state police with resisting arrest after she allegedly fled from troopers during an incident April 14. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Drug charges: Johnna L. Longstreath, 48, of 475 Moon Road, Washington, was charged this week by state police with possession of crack and paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Troopers were called to a trailer park at 849 Henderson Ave., Canton, on Aug. 1 for a report a woman with a knife causing a scene in the middle of a street. Police did not find a knife, but said they found the drugs. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Endangerment, drunkenness charges: Christopher Roberts, 44, of Uniontown, was charged this week by Chartiers police with reckless endangerment, public drunkenness, driving under suspension and reckless driving after he allegedly was driving recklessly on Pike Street near Country Club Road in Meadow Lands on March 29. Police found his vehicle parked in a nearby lot and said they saw Roberts trying to open the door of an apartment. He had difficulty standing and staying awake, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Resisting, false ID charges: Starrla R. Alderson-Murphy, 46, of 90 Barnickle St., Meadow Lands, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge David Mark on charges of resisting arrest, false identification to police and public drunkenness stemming from an April 23 incident at Pike and Barnickle streets. Mark set bond at $10,000 on Alderson-Murphy, who was initially placed in Washington County Jail on a parole detainer.

PFA violation alleged: Gary Mariani, 67, of Chartiers, was placed in Washington County Jail Tuesday on a probation detainer after he allegedly violated a protection-from-abuse order for having a third party contact his estranged wife, Chartiers police said. Mariani will be arraigned later before District Judge David Mark on the PFA charge.

Money stolen: Earl Saffel of 783 Regent Drive told Chartiers police Wednesday that $52 was stolen from his wallet.

Vehicles entered: Charles White Jr. and Melinda Hinton, both of Claysville, told state police Wednesday that their vehicles were entered while parked in the 200 block of Wayne Street. Northing was stolen from White’s vehicle, but a purse and small console were stolen from Hinton’s vehicle.

Citation issued: The operators of Bower Brothers’ Lounge, 550 Front St., East Bethlehem, were cited Thursday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly allowing gambling or gambling devices on the premises April 25.

Copper stolen: A representative of Atlas Resources of Waynesburg told state police Wednesday that 264 feet of 3/8-inch copper wire was stolen from a well site at 352 Fox Road, Hopewell.

One injured: Helen Myers, 72, of Prosperity Pike, Prosperity, was injured May 2 when her vehicle was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Russell King, 78, of Alamae Lakes Road, Washington, North Franklin police said. Myers had been stopped in the northbound lane of Park Avenue near Oakmont Street when her vehicle was hit, police said. Myers was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.

Driver injured: Elizabeth K. Collins, 67, of Carl Avenue, Eighty Four, was injured Wednesday afternoon when her vehicle crashed in the 1600 block of Route 519, North Strabane police said. She apparently fell asleep at the wheel as she drove south, and her vehicle crossed into the northbound lane, coming to rest on the shoulder. She was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.

Sex assault alleged: Steven Lee Harper, 52, of 190 Hayes Ave., faces a felony charge of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse following an incident May 2 at 976 Addison St., where he allegedly had sex with a sleeping man. Harper also is charged with indecent assault on an unconscious person, a misdemeanor. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Robert Redlinger June 7.
