Children reportedly chased

Five Canonsburg children, ranging in age from 7 to 13, told Canonsburg police they were chased early Wednesday by a man with a gun near a Euclid Avenue convenience store.
Police were called about 12:35 a.m. to a home in the 400 block of Como Avenue where a relative of one of the children resides. Four boys, ages 7, 10 and two 13-year-olds, and an 8-year-old girl went to the home to hide from the man, police said.
They told police they were playing on a rope swing at a creek off Euclid when the man appeared. The man reportedly had a gun and was speaking to the children, although they could not understand what he was saying. He also was using his cellphone to record the children, police said.
He was described as black, wearing a dark T-shirt and yellow shorts. He also had long dreadlocks, police said. Officers searched the area but could not find the suspect.
