Two children flown from crash involving car that drifted into Speers yard
Two children were flown Tuesday from the scene of a single-vehicle accident as a precaution after they were in a vehicle that swerved through a yard in Speers.
Charleroi Regional police Chief Eric Porter said he wasn’t aware of any injuries to the girls – about 7 months old and 4 years old – who were in proper child seats, and said he believed taking them to hospitals by helicopter was a precautionary measure.
He said the accident happened about 11 a.m. on Grandview Way after the vehicle stalled and the driver activated its emergency brake.
Porter said the vehicle hit some shrubs and a decorative lattice but missed a house as it traveled off the road.
“It was just through the yard and then back onto the road,” he said.
