Man faces attempted homicide charge

A Canton Township man was arrested by Chartiers Township police on charges including attempted homicide and three counts of aggravated assault after he allegedly threatened his pregnant wife with a handgun while the two were at a Racetrack Road hotel late Friday and Saturday.
Glenn Allen Dillon, 39, of 212 Bench Ave., also is charged with person not to possess a firearm, unlawful restraint, simple assault and reckless endangerment. He was arraigned late Saturday before District Judge Traci McDonald, who set bond at $1 million. He was placed in Washington County jail.
The 28-year-old woman told Sgt. Michael Filosi her husband rented a room at the Microtel on Racetrack Road Friday night and that they arrived there about 11 p.m.
“She said he wouldn’t let her leave and took her cellphone,” Filosi said. “He choked her and then pulled a gun on her.”
Dillon reportedly pointed the loaded, 9mm Taurus handgun at his wife’s head, telling her that “I’ll kill you and then myself.”
He also reportedly punched her in the head and face, causing a small laceration on her forehead.
After the assault, Dillon fell asleep, Filosi said. The woman did not have a vehicle, he added.
On Saturday, she talked Dillon to taking her to the MedExpress in South Strabane Township. She went inside while he sat in the vehicle. The woman told a MedExpress employee what happened and South Strabane Township police responded, taking Dillon into custody and turning him over to Chartiers police.
Filosi said the woman was treated for a small laceration on her head and checked out due to her pregnancy.
Dillon is not permitted to possess a firearm because of a felony charge of possession of marijuana in Arizona.
McDonald also ordered as part of condition of his release that bond may not be posted until a hearing is held before a Common Pleas Court judge to determine if conditions of pretrial services supervision should be imposed and that he is not to be released from the jail until further order of the court. Dillon is scheduled for a June 8 preliminary hearing before District Judge David Mark.
