Police Beat May 30
Fugitive caught: Ralph Alan Bowens, 29, of Keyser, W.Va., was taken into custody early Sunday by state police after they found his vehicle disabled on Interstate 70 east near the Murtland Avenue interchange, South Strabane. Police learned he was wanted on a warrant for a probation violation in Texas. Police also charged him with driving with a suspended license. He was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald as a fugitive from justice and placed in Washington County jail without bond pending extradition to Texas.
Wallet stolen: Michaela Brown of Prosperity told South Strabane police Thursday her black Michael Kors wallet containing $450, an Applebees gift card and credit cards was stolen while she was at the BP, Racetrack Road.
Two charged: James John Schott, 20, and John Domenic Antenucci, 18, both of Pittsburgh, were arrested Saturday night by Monongahela police on drug charges after a bag of suspected Xanax was sold to a man who tipped off police about the sale. Antenucci is charged with criminal use of a communications facility, possession and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and marijuana possession of paraphernalia and possessing instruments of a crime. Schott is charged with conspiracy, possession and possession with intent to deliver Xanax and possession of paraphernalia. They were arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald. Both were released from Washington County jail after posting $20,000 bond.
Vehicle stolen: Renee Hardie-Post of National Pike, Washington, told Washington police Sunday her white 2014 Nissan Rogue was stolen from outside 810 Summerlea Ave. She said the vehicle is dented with blue paint on the fender and hood. The license is GYJ-7901.
Man charged: Brent Zinn, 38, of Allison, Fayette County, was charged by Washington police with harassment and disorderly conduct after an incident Friday at Shop ‘n Save, 125 W. Beau St. Police said an employee confronted Zinn after he reportedly tried to steal items from the store. He allegedly ran back into the store, dumped the items and tried to leave by forcing his way past employees. Zinn was stopped and held until police arrived.
Boyfriend charged: Matthew Stephens, 27, of 655 Allison Ave., was charged with harassment by Washington police after he allegedly slapped 28-year-old Miranda Hixon during a confrontation at their home Friday.
Card used: Randoff Matten of Washington told Washington police Sunday information from his debit card was used to steal $75.02 from his bank account.
