Charleroi man jailed in sexual assault case
CHARLEROI – A Charleroi man was jailed Tuesday on charges he had sex with a 15-year-old girl in his residence in January.
Charleroi Regional police charged Joshua S. Rose, 22, of 1205 McKean Ave. with statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and corruption of minors, court records show.
State police referred the case to Charleroi police in September. Police interviewed the alleged victim Oct. 4, and she said she visited Rose’s residence when he was 21 years old.
Rose later told police he thought she was 17 years old, the sex was consensual and they never discussed her age, police stated in the affidavit.
District Judge Larry Hopkins placed Rose in Washington County jail on $100,000 bond.
