A Spraggs man died Saturday after a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 70 in Somerset Township.

State police said William G. Brown, 59, was traveling west about 10 p.m. Friday when his vehicle left the roadway, hit a PennDOT sign on the right side of the road and then struck a fence.

Brown was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital and later flown to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh, where he was pronounced dead about 10:20 p.m. Saturday.

No evidence suggests Brown took corrective actions or another vehicle was involved in the crash, police said.
