Bill to create new awards heads to governor’s desk

Legislation introduced by state Rep. Rick Saccone, R-Elizabeth, that would add two new decorations to the list of existing medals, badges and awards conferred by the state for heroic civilian and military service unanimously passed the Senate Tuesday.

House Bill 165, previously approved by the House, now heads to Gov. Tom Wolf’s desk for his signature. The legislation would create the Pennsylvania Medal of Achievement and the Pennsylvania Veterans Service Award.
