Liberty Tunnel, Bridge restrictions
There will be overnight closures of the inbound Liberty Tunnel in Pittsburgh Monday and Tuesday nights, weather permitting.
The inbound tunnel will close to traffic from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday and Tuesday nights as crews work in the tunnel. The outbound Liberty Tunnel will not be impacted. McArdle Roadway will remain open in both directions.
All inbound traffic will be detoured at the south portal of the Liberty Tunnel.
Work will also continue on the Liberty Bridge on Monday and Tuesday. There will be a lane restriction at the signal where the inbound Boulevard of the Allies and the outbound Crosstown Boulevard ramps meet to access the outbound bridge. The restriction will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. There will be single-lane restriction will occur on PJ McArdle Roadway between Arlington Avenue and the bridge as crews conduct excavation and guard rail installation. The restriction will occur from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Motorists will be able to make all traffic movements from the single-lane.
There also will be single-lane restriction in each direction will occur as needed on the bridge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day.
