AMWELL
Vehicle overturns: Austin Davenport, 20, of Waynesburg, was slightly hurt when his vehicle ran off Waynesburg Road (Route 19) late Thursday, went into a yard, struck a curb and overturned, state police said. A passenger was not hurt. Davenport was treated at the scene by Washington Ambulance and Chair. He faces an underage drinking charge.
BENTLEYVILLE
Assault arrest: Gregory J. Martos, 57, of 201 Locust St., Bentleyville, was arrested Saturday by state police for allegedly punching his girlfriend in the eye. Martos was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was released from Washington County jail after posting $10,000 bond. Martos was excluded from the house as part of McDonald’s order and told too have no contact with the woman.
CALIFORNIA
Marijuana possession: Rehny Denise Little, 23, of Homestead, was charged by California police last week with possession of marijuana stemming from a Nov. 11 traffic stop in the 600 block of Wood Street. She was a passenger in the vehicle. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
CHARLEROI
Charged in stop: Shawntae Smith, 32, of 904 Shady Ave., Charleroi, was arrested Saturday by Charleroi Regional police on charges of possession of paraphernalia and driving under suspension stemming from a traffic stop at McKean Avenue and 13th Street. She was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald and released on $5,000 unsecured bond.
McDONALD
Theft charges: Dale J. Boris, 56, of 119 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, will be charged by McDonald police with retail theft stemming from three alleged thefts at different businesses in the borough last week. He is accused of stealing candy from Giant Eagle on Nov. 21. The following day, he allegedly stole beer from Colonial Beer Distributor. On Saturday, he allegedly stole a bottle from the Wine and Spirits Shoppe. The charges will be filed at the office of District Judge Traci McDonald.
NORTH STRABANE
One injured: Benjamin Saltzman, 24, of Heidelberg, was injured in a two-vehicle crash just after noon Saturday in the 600 block of Waterdam Road. North Strabane police said Saltzman, who is a FedEx delivery driver, was slowing to pull into a driveway to make a delivery when his vehicle was struck by one driven by Shane Gledhill, 51, of Justabout Road, Venetia. Saltzman was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment. Gledhill will be charged with overtaking vehicles on the left, police said.
ROSTRAVER
Man jailed: Marc Raymond Hamer, 27, of 101 Plainview Drive, Rostraver Township, is charged by township police with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, strangulation, simple assault, resisting arrest and criminal mischief, court records show. Police accuse Hamer of body-slamming his mother, Tracy Streele-Thomas, to the ground outside of their residence about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. He then allegedly choked her and slammed her head off of the ground at least 10 times while also threatening to kill her. Hamer also is accused of struggling with police and damaging a holding cell at the township police station. He is in Westmoreland County jail on $25,000 bond set by District Judge Denise S. Thiel.
Woman charged: Brianna Dawn Naylor, 20, of 311 Rod Way, Donora, is charged by township police with two counts of corruption of minors over allegations she provided and smoked marijuana with a boy, 12, at separate locations Dec. 1 and Jan. 31, court records show. District Judge Charles Christner issued the charges via summons last week.
WASHINGTON
Woman arrested: Yolanda Rose Sanders, 35, whose last known address is East Hallam Avenue, Washington, was arrested Sunday by Washington police on charges of burglary, resisting arrest, criminal trespass, harassment, simple assault and criminal mischief. She reportedly entered a home at 47 Shannon Ave., without permission. Sanders allegedly went into the kitchen and removed a pizza from the oven. She struggled with the residents as they tried to remove her from the home and struggled with officers when they tried to take her into custody, police said. She was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald and placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond.
Club cited: The Pulaski Club, 1180 Summerlea Ave., Washington, was cited Monday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement with possessing gambling devices on Sept. 19.
Lockbox stolen: Bill West of Northwood Realty told Washington police Nov. 21 that a lockbox was stolen from outside a house at 375 Allison Ave.
Money stolen: Dafney Sienicki of Houston told Washington police that $150 was stolen from her change purse that she allegedly left on a table Nov. 21 at Washington Christian Outreach, 119 Highland Ave. The purse was found, but the money was gone and cards that had been inside were strewn about on a different table.
Motorcycle stolen: Amanda McCoy, 50 Highland Ave., told Washington police Nov. 21 that a red, 1981 Honda CB 900 motorcycle was stolen from outside her residence.
Ring stolen: Richard Porter, 39 N. Main St., told Washington police Nov. 21 that a gold and diamond engagement ring was stolen from a safe inside his residence.
Vehicle hit: Leti Johnson, 23, of Washington, told Washington police Wednesday that her vehicle was deliberately hit by a vehicle driven by another Washington woman at the intersection of Coremont Street and East Katherine Avenue. Charges are pending against the other driver.
Shoes, clothes stolen: Nathaniel Jones, 136 E. Walnut St., told Washington police Thursday that six pairs of Nike Air Jordan shoes, a John Madden 18 video game and items of clothing were stolen from his home.
