The summary trial for two building owners, who face multiple citations related to conditions at the Washington apartment building that collapsed in July, trapping a resident for more than nine hours, has been continued for a fifth time.

Mark Russo of Washington and his sister, Melissa Russo of Colorado, face 40 code violations for the 15 N. Main St. building and five other rental properties in the city.

A court official said Tuesday the summary trial, scheduled for Thursday, was continued because a city official is unable to attend. The hearing was rescheduled to 1 p.m. Oct. 31 before District Judge Robert Redlinger.

The trial previously was continued at the request of the Russos’ attorney so they and the city could work toward reaching an agreement.

Demolition work on the “Montgomery Building” on North Main is ongoing.
