CUMBERLAND
Retail theft: Three people were charged by Cumberland Township police with retail theft after they allegedly stole items from Sheetz on Route 88 in the township Sept. 14. Police said Sarah Marie Blake, 27, of 323 4th St., Waynesburg, Elijah David, 18, of 1397 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, and Michael Allen Rickard, 25, of Prosperity, were each charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property after they allegedly were caught on surveillance footage stuffing $47 worth of items in their clothing and leaving the store without paying. Rickard is being held at Greene County jail on $15,000 bond, while Blake and David are out on smaller bond amounts.
FRANKLIN
False identification: Anthony Warren Stankowitz, 29, of 123 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, was charged by state police with giving a false statement to law enforcement and two traffic summary offenses following a traffic stop on Interstate 79 northbound in Franklin Township Sept. 26. Police said Stankowitz was a passenger in the vehicle that was registered to him with no valid insurance. Police said Stankowitz gave multiple false statements about his name, birth date and address.
PERRY
Crash: State police said a tractor trailer struck a utility pole with its trailer while negotiating a curve on Locust Avenue in Perry Township about 11:15 a.m. Friday. Police said the pole broke in half and fell into the road. Police did not identify the driver.
