Woman hit by vehicle in Washington
A Westmoreland County woman told Washington police Sunday she was struck by a vehicle as she tried to stop the driver from fleeing outside a Church Street home that morning.
Nyeacha Wilson, 27, of Mt. Pleasant, told police the man who was driving the car and one of his two female passengers stole her paycheck.
Wilson told police the three of them spent Saturday night at a home in the 100 block of Church Street. The other woman left the home, and about 7 a.m., the man allegedly told Wilson he had to get his cellphone and ran from the house. Wilson thought it was suspicious and followed him outside.
The man allegedly got into a gold-colored car as a woman in the vehicle yelled, “Hurry up before she figures it out.” Wilson said she stood in front of the vehicle in an effort to stop the car. The driver allegedly accelerated, striking Wilson and dragging her under the vehicle.
Wilson screamed for him to stop. She said he stopped the car and freed her before driving off.
Wilson told police she later discovered her paycheck had been stolen from the home. She told police at first she did not believe she was injured, but later in the day her leg swelled and she was not able to walk.
Wilson was able to give police the name of the woman and a first name of the man. Police are continuing their investigation and could file charges of aggravated assault.
