Police Beat Oct. 9
Gun, ammunition stolen: Timothy Koscho, 586 Lone Pine Road, Amwell, told state police about 4 a.m. Sunday a Glock pistol was stolen from his car which was parked in the driveway at 588 Lone Pine. Binoculars and a Maglite were stolen from his pickup truck which was parked in the driveway at 586 Lone Pine. A detached garage on his property also was entered. A backpack containing two holsters and ammunition was stolen. Police said neither the vehicle nor the garage was locked.
PFA arrest: Gertrude Virginia Roupe, 36, of 55 W. Chestnut St., Washington, was arraigned Sunday before District Judge Jay Weller for allegedly violating a protection from abuse order obtained in May by her estranged husband which prohibits her from contacting him. She is accused of calling her estranged husband, who resides in Canton, at least once Tuesday by telephone while he was a patient at UPMC, Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh. State police were contacted about the call by a hospital representative. Weller told Roupe she has several other outstanding warrants pending against her for allegedly violating the PFA. She was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Theft arrest: Danielle Metts, 38, of 130 Sugar Maple Circle, North Franklin Township, was arrested Friday by state police on a felony retail theft charge after she allegedly stole merchandise valued at $10.42 from Dollar General, 935 Henderson Ave., Canton. Court documents indicate she has seven prior retail theft arrests. She was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released.
Drug arrest: Brooke Ann Snyder, 36, of Uniontown, was arraigned Sunday before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of possession of paraphernalia filed by Charleroi Regional police. Officers went to a home in the 300 block of Washington Avenue about 1:15 a.m. Sunday to look for her. She was wanted on a warrant for previously having paraphernalia during a June 22 incident in the 800 block of Meadow Avenue. Police found her holding a crack pipe Sunday. She was placed in Washington County jail on $6,000 bond.
Son arrested: Damon Michael Lowden, 22, of 17 S. Main St., Ellsworth, was arrested Saturday night by state police after a domestic at his home. He is accused of accused of shoving his mother against a car and punching his stepfather in the face and shoving him to the ground. He is also accused of kicking his stepfather’s vehicle. Lowden was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on two counts of harassment and one count each of simple assault and criminal mischief. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Assault arrest: Joseph Edgardo Carcamo, 25, of Moore Park, Calif., was arrested Sunday by South Strabane police on charges of simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment for allegedly assaulting a woman Friday inside a room at Courtyard by Marriott, 1800 Tanger Boulevard. The alleged victim told police she had flown to this area from California Oct. 1 and was staying with him. She reportedly left after finding out he was married. When she went back to get her belongings, he allegedly threatened her, shoved her down on a bed and choked her. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Gun charge: William D. Smith Jr., 77, of 40 Canton Ave., Washington, was arraigned Sunday before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of person not to possess firearms and possession of paraphernalia filed by the Washington County Drug Task Force. Detectives served a search warrant at his home on June 28. Smith reportedly admitted to being a convicted felon and told detectives there was a loaded revolver in a cabinet. He was released on his own recognizance.
