Trespass, mischief arrest: David Alexandru, 29, who has no known address, was arrested Tuesday morning by California police on charges of criminal trespass, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after he was reportedly found sleeping in a vacant apartment in the 200 block of Union Street. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail without bond because he has no address.
Theft charges: Theresa Rowen-Dennis, 49, of California, will be charged with theft after she allegedly took $20 to purchase items from a resident of Liberty Towers Aug. 31 but never returned with the items or money.
Antenna stolen: Janis Cutright, 206 Columbia Drive, told Canonsburg police the antenna was stolen from her vehicle.
Theft, drug arrest: Emilio A. Redmond, 27, of 65 Imperial Ave., Washington, was arrested on a warrant obtained by state police charging him with theft and possession of a controlled substance. He is accused of stealing a wallet containing $900 along with prescription medication from a home at 231 Key Ave., Canton, Monday. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $1,000 bond.
Woman scammed: A Canton Township woman told state police Tuesday she wired $1,450 from Walmart at Trinity Point to Rockville, Md., believing the money was to help her grandson who had been in a car crash. She later found out he had not been in a crash and she had been the victim of fraud.
Two arrested: Nicole Kerlicker, 25, of 17 Matthews Road, Belle Vernon, and Jessica C. Benning, 31, of 70 Dairy Road, Charleroi, were each charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop by Charleroi Regional police Tuesday night at First Street and Fallowfield Avenue. Kerlicker is also charged with traffic violations. Both were arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward. Kerlicker is in Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond while Benning is in on an $1,000 percentage bond.
Counterfeit money: Two counterfeit $50 bills were passed earlier this week at Gabriel Brothers, 460 Washington Road, South Strabane police said.
Woman assaulted: Angela Belcastro told Washington police Tuesday night she was assaulted by her boyfriend in his vehicle as they drove near her East Prospect Street home. She told police he grabbed her hair and yanked it. He also allegedly slammed her head against the steering wheel before she was able to get out of the vehicle. He fled before police arrived. He is facing a charge of simple assault.
Game player stolen: Sherry Smith, 102 Jollick Manor, told Washington police Tuesday a Playstation 4 was stolen from her home.
Clutch purse stolen: Robert Darnley, 1029 Michigan Ave., told Washington police Tuesday a Coach clutch purse containing a driver’s license and credit cards was stolen from his vehicle.
