FRANKLIN

Theft from mine: David M. Renner, 37, of 627 Rudolph Run Road, Spraggs, Joel R. Barlow, 25, of Fairview, W.Va., and Cecil H. McGee III, 40, of Morgantown, W.Va., were charged Wednesday with burglary, trespassing, theft and criminal mischief after state police said they stole $2,970 worth of cable from the Emerald Mine property at Lauren Run and Mt. Morris roads in Franklin Township and damaged two compressor boxes Aug. 15.

JEFFERSON

Illegal hunting: Marko Demaske 54, and John M. Demaske, 21, both of Jefferson, were arraigned Thursday on nine felony charges and four misdemeanor counts of illegally hunting deer beyond the season limits in 2015. The state Game Commission officers said they found them in November 2015 with meat and antlers from more than a dozen deer. DNA testing on the animals was returned in September and the Game Commission charged them Oct. 6. Both are free on $15,000 bond and awaiting a preliminary hearing before District Judge Lee Watson at 1:15 p.m. Oct. 25.
