Greene County pleaders
WAYNESBURG – A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty and were sentenced last week by Greene County Judge Lou Dayich.
Shane Michael Somerville, 21, of 249 Nazer St. Waynesburg; offenses – receiving stolen property, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia; during a search of his residence July 3, police found more than $800 in cash, jars and bags with marijuana, grinders, digital scales, a growing marijuana plant, pills and a handgun reported to have been stolen in West Virginia; sentence – 9 to 23 ½ months in jail, credit for time served from July 3; $300 fine, 100 hours of community service.
Joey Dickey, 69, of 106 Woodside Manor, Carmichaels; offenses – delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance; on Aug. 18, 2015, Dickey sold a Suboxone strip for $30 to a confidential informant working with Cumberland Township police; sentence – two years in the county intermediate punishment program with 30 days in jail; he is permitted to serve the jail sentence on weekends.
Duane Richard Robbins, 58, of 1738 S. Eighty-Eight Road, Greensboro; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense in 10 years; two summary traffic violations; arrested March 19, following a single-vehicle crash in Greensboro, Robbins had a blood-alcohol content level of .205 percent; sentence – 5 years in the county intermediate punishment program with the first 120 days on house arrest; $1,550 in fines, 100 hours of community service.
Joshua John Maraney, 27, of 131 Alicia Main St., Greensboro; offenses – pleaded no contest to theft, receiving stolen property, driving without a license; on Oct. 4, 2016, he arranged to sell car speakers to a couple; he took their money and fled; sentence – 5 years in the county intermediate punishment program, with 90 days in jail and credit for time served from Sept. 26, then six months of house arrest; $400 in fines; $230 in restitution; 100 hours of community service.
Mark William Metcalf, 32, of 142 Wood St., Nemacolin; pleaded no contest to DUI, second offense in 10 years, and four summary traffic violations; arrested Dec. 1, he had a BAC of .156 percent; sentence – 5 days to 6 months in jail, $450 in fines, 75 hours of community service; he is permitted to serve his sentence on weekends.
Cody Rush, 25, of 675 Nemacolin Road, Nemacolin; offenses – three counts cruelty to animals; on March 18, Rush’s dog was found with severe lacerations to its legs resulting from a plastic lead having been wrapped around them; sentence – $125 in fines, $141.35 in restitution; prohibited from owning animal for six months.
Aaron Dwight Householder, 31, of 1755 Township Road 218, Richmond, Ohio; offenses – DUI, three summary violations; Householder had a BAC of .225 percent following a single-vehicle crash on Browns Creek Road on Nov. 8, 2012; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, credit for 72 hours served; $1,075 in fines, $691 in restitution to state highway department.
Brian Keith Price, 53, of 525 Short St., Waynesburg; offenses – DUI, second offense in 10 years, two summary violations; arrested June 19, 2016, following a single-vehicle crash on Route 21 in Franklin Township, he had a BAC of .280 percent; sentence – 30 days to 6 months in jail, work release permitted; $1,050 in fines, 40 hours of community service.
Daniel Hunyady, 39, of 2221 E. Roy Furman Highway, Carmichaels; offenses – simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment; on April 11, he assaulted a woman in Greensboro, throwing her to the ground and threatening to rape and kill her; sentence – 1 year probation $500 fine, 60 hours of community service.
Lisa Eileen Basinger, 51, of 602 Smithfield-Masontown Road, Smithfield; offense – theft; in late 2016, Basinger opened a bank account in the name of her ex-husband and made purchases totaling $1,994.94; sentence – 5 years of probation, restitution.
Allison Elaine Sanders, 45, of 410 Sadler St., Point Marion; offenses – harassment, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief; on March 17, 2016, Sanders kicked another woman’s vehicle and scratched the side door with a sharp object while shouting obscenities at the woman; sentence – $200 in fines, $1,000 in restitution.
Aaron Michael Redman, 20, of 137 Orchard Road, Waynesburg; offenses – possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia; arrested Sept. 13, 2016, he was in possession of marijuana and a pipe; sentence – 10 months of probation, 140 hours of community service.
Brandon Jarrell Harrison, 31, of 5 S. Water St., Masontown; offenses – possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license; when stopped by police for speeding June 30, 2016, he was in possession of marijuana; sentence – 1 year probation, $778.50 in fines.
Rhonda Lee Porterfield, 45, of 1 Washington St., Cokeburg; offense – theft; in December 2015, Porterfield stole $10,505 from the 7-Eleven in Franklin Township, where she was employed as a manager; sentence – 7 years of probation, restitution.
