Jurors to resume deliberations in trial of 1 of 3 in deaths
BEAVER (AP) — Jurors return next week to resume deliberations in the Pennsylvania trial of one of three defendants charged in what prosecutors say was a robbery during a drug deal that claimed two lives.
The Beaver County Times reports that the Beaver County panel has been considering the case against 18-year-old Ronald Foster for about 17 hours. The panel resumes deliberations Tuesday.
Prosecutors allege that Foster helped plan the September robbery in Aliquippa of 18-year-old Dane Mathesius and 16-year-old William Booher during a drug sale. Booher was found shot to death in a car. Mathesius fled and was found dead several days later in a nearby backyard.
Defense attorney Paul Gettleman has said his client had nothing to do with the shootings and “just wanted to buy some weed.”
