Simple assault charge: Christopher DeWayne Carruthers, 24, of 250 Pike St., is being charged with simple assault and harassment after allegedly pushing Nicole Megyesy, no age or address available, during a domestic dispute Saturday about 1:45 a.m., police said. Carruthers was being held in Washington County jail on $10,000 straight bond.

Crash: Teresa Price, 51, of Swissvale, sustained a minor injury about 6:50 p.m. Friday when she backed out of a driveway on Sugar Run Road and the back-end of her vehicle was struck by a vehicle being driven by Eddie L. Cook, 59, of Childress, Texas, police said. Cook was not injured.

DUI charge: Alexander Russell Cranston Jr., 30, of 310 Silver Maple Ave., Langeloth, is being charged with multiple infractions, including DUI, reckless driving and operating a vehicle without valid inspection stickers, after the van he was driving went through a yard and hit a telephone pole on Grant Street about 1:15 a.m. Saturday, police said. An officer had been following Cranston’s vehicle, which did not stop when the officer put on his emergency lights. Cranston’s vehicle sideswiped a guardrail and crossed the double yellow line several times during the pursuit. He fled the scene after the crash and was later apprehended near his mother’s house at 143 Vance St. in Burgettstown. He is being held in Washington County jail on $50,000 straight bond.
